Supporting safe and stable housing

Northern HOME

Housing Opportunities, Maintenance & Empowerment

Safe housing. Stronger communities.

Northern HOME (Housing Opportunities, Maintenance & Empowerment) promotes safe, stable, and affordable housing by supporting initiatives that improve housing security, accessibility, and overall community wellbeing. The program helps individuals and families access safe housing while working to prevent homelessness and improve living conditions.

Northern HOME connects people with housing-related resources and services while supporting programs that improve accessibility and create safer living environments. Through community partnerships and practical support, the program helps strengthen housing stability and long-term wellbeing.

Program activities may include housing support programs, homelessness prevention initiatives, accessibility improvements, emergency housing assistance, home safety education, tenant support, housing navigation, and affordable housing partnerships. These initiatives help individuals and families find and maintain safe, stable housing.

Northern HOME primarily supports individuals experiencing housing insecurity, low-income families, seniors, persons with disabilities, newcomers, and vulnerable populations, helping improve access to safe and affordable housing throughout Canada.

Through donations and community partnerships, Northern HOME helps create healthier communities by improving housing stability, preventing homelessness, and expanding access to safe, accessible, and affordable housing across Canada.
