Supporting sustainable agriculture

Northern FARM

Food, Agriculture & Rural Management

Growing food. Strengthening rural communities.

Northern FARM (Food, Agriculture & Rural Management) supports sustainable agriculture, local food production, and resilient rural communities across Canada. The program promotes food security through agricultural education, community food initiatives, and partnerships that strengthen rural development and long-term sustainability.

Northern FARM encourages communities to work together in building sustainable food systems while supporting agricultural learning, local food production, and rural collaboration. Through education and community partnerships, the program helps improve access to nutritious food and strengthens the future of rural communities.

Program activities may include community gardens, urban farming, agricultural workshops, food-growing initiatives, rural partnerships, and local food education. These initiatives encourage sustainable farming practices while promoting food security and community participation.

Northern FARM primarily supports rural communities, farmers, schools, Indigenous communities, community organizations, and volunteers, helping strengthen local agriculture and build more resilient food systems.

Through donations and community partnerships, Northern FARM supports sustainable agriculture, strengthens local economies, promotes environmental stewardship, and helps create healthier, more resilient communities across Canada.
