Dr. Njinuwo Eric is a freelance researcher of socio-cultural and political history, and a variety of contemporary issues that affects humanity. His academic background is diverse and multi-disciplinary. He has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and Archaeology from Buea University in Cameroon, a Master of Science Degree in International Museum Studies from Gothenburg University in Sweden, and a PhD in History from University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. Njinuwo's research interest in is the areas of colonialisms, international relations, cultural imperialism, geopolitics, democracy, migration, human rights, museum history, problems of nation building, conflicts and conflict management, globalization and gendered violence. In terms of his teaching interest, Njinuwo is capable of teaching courses in African, Asian, European and North American History. Besides, on the basis of his academic background, he can successfully teach junior level courses in politics, and other disciplines in the humanities including social studies, political sciences, cultural studies, and oral history. His other areas of teaching interest are Canadian Aboriginal Studies and Canadian contemporary problems like addiction, domestic violence, parenting, and human rights abuse. Informed by a constructivist approach to teaching, Njinuwo engages the students in academic discussions about a topic while at the same time, suggesting additional primary and secondary reading materials to complement regular course content. In doing so, he encourages his students to develop critical thinking skills and to inculcate the habit of embracing and appreciating diverse narratives. Equally, by employing a student- centered philosophy of teaching, he set a high expectation for himself and his students. These expectations are realized through creating a conducive learning environment, motivating the student, and most especially, focusing on satisfying their individual learning needs.
